I want to take the opportunity of this special Easter season to start a blog that causes us to think more deeply about our faith. Since we have determined that youths make up a special part of our unique calling as a local church I will start out with emphasis on the youths. The Easter season is a very happy time in St Kitts and Nevis and indeed throughout the Christian world. We have many enjoyable traditions, including special church services, going to the beach, having wonderful family meals and flying kites. Some of the traditions of our neighbours have also invaded our Region such as searching for Easter eggs and eating lots of chocolate.
We however must not forget the true meaning of Easter. It is so important that we especially ensure that our children understand what Easter means. At Easter we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. When we think of how He paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross we do have good reasons to rejoice. Even more important let us celebrate the resurrection of our Lord because without the resurrection our faith would be in vain. Death has been defeated! Thank you Lord, our Savior is alive.
My friend, whether you are young or more mature in years, what does Easter mean to you?
To help the younger ones appreciate the story of Easter I have prepared an . It is multiple choice. Just choose the correct answer. Prizes will be awarded on Sunday 30th April for those who score more than 75%.
